西浜西浜竜一教授が京都大学との共同研究としてNature Plants誌に発表した論文“Stomatal regulators are co-opted for seta development in the astomatous liverwort Marchantia polymorpha”がプレスリリースされました。
本研究では、気孔のない植物タイ類が保持する“気孔形成因子”が、コケ植物特有の組織である蒴柄の発生制御に転用された可能性を見出しました。
